Matt serves as an Information Security Advisor within our Cybersecurity Advisory practice. Matt brings nearly 20 years of experience in Strategic Consulting, Information Security Advisory, Information Security process development and maturity, Cybersecurity Regulatory Compliance (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CMMC, et al), and Cybersecurity Assessments (NIST, ISO).
Matt has guided a wide-range of clients seeking an improved cybersecurity posture across diverse industry verticals, domestically and internationally, large and small, and seeks the “eureka moment” with his clients where the business challenge is met with a freshly aligned perspective that allows the organization to further mature........Matt has spent the past several years listening to client challenges, frustrations, and desired cybersecurity outcomes, then applying his expertise to offer right-sized solutions. Matt actively collaborates with both clients and peers, innovating new services or augmenting existing services to ensure SEVN-X remains a trusted thought-leader driving our clients to Achieve Better Cybersecurity.

Throughout Steve's career in consulting and industry, he has evaluated, developed, and led business and cybersecurity strategies, managed cybersecurity operations, and ensured the security of products, devices, and applications. Known for his innovative thinking and versatility, Steve is often described as a "big thinker" and a "Swiss army knife" due to his extensive experience, mentorship abilities, and practical guidance.
With over 18 years of experience in global Fortune 500 consulting, plus an additional two years in-house focusing on cybersecurity operations and leadership, Steve is dedicated to the design, protection, and defense of complex business environments. His consulting roles have included positions such as vCISO, Director of Secure Operations Center, Application Security Services, Mentor, Account Executive, and more.
Present Day
As the Director of Application Security, Steve focuses on overseeing the application lifecycle, from design and development to evaluation and project management. Steve evaluates regulatory frameworks, crafts strategic roadmaps, and occasionally manages accounts. He mentors teams and oversees application lifecycles, using his technical knowledge and strategic outlook to solve business challenges. His versatility and commitment make him an asset to both SEVN-X and our clients.
