April 2024 Newsletter

SEVN-X Newsletter [April 2024]

April showers bring May flowers. April already brought a massive data leak, the largest-ever Microsoft breach (despite Andres Freund's efforts), and a ransom payout from UnitedHealth. Fingers crossed for those May flowers.

For SEVN-X, April brought plenty of conference time (pics below), an updated shop, and more. In this edition, we focus on:
  1. Navigating Cybersecurity Frameworks
  2. GrassR00tz
  3. New Team Members
  4. Conference Schedule
As always, thank you for your support, your feedback, and your camaraderie!

Cybersecurity Framework Series
In this series, we hope to provide insight into the complexities of the many cybersecurity frameworks. If you're looking for a straight-forward take on the updated NIST CSF and other frameworks, look no further.

We're releasing a new post in the series every two weeks. So, if you missed the earlier parts…

Matt, Zac, Taliy, and Ross are driving out to Appleton, Wisconsin for the GrassR00tz conference. A Security Conference by security professionals for security professionals, the organizers behind GrassR00tz (including Jarrod Coulter) are aiming to create the next DerbyCon.

We have a lot planned including the first ever live War Stories and a presentation on building a password cracker by Vitaliy Kovalchuck himself. If you're in the Midwest region, we hope to see you there!

SEVN-X is growing
